Our Programs

The curriculum at Mount Assisi Academy Preschool is designed to incorporate: language development social skills art, math and reading-readiness activities fine motor skills (hand/eye coordination, dexterity) gross motor skills (whole body movements) Classrooms Most of the activities providing the total learning experience take place in four spacious rooms. This helps the children to focus on the particular task at hand.  One room is used for cognitive development and contains a variety of materials used to develop math and reading skills, as well as sensory and self-care activities. A second room contains equipment for the development of gross motor skills. The third room has a variety of art materials where the children are given the opportunity for creative art expression and the development of small motor skills. The fourth room is equipped for imaginary play.

Schedule Four and Five Year-Olds Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. or 12:15 p.m. to 3:15 p.m.  Three Year-Olds Mondays and Fridays 9:15 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. or 12:15 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Special Features

Birthday parties give special recognition to each child on his or her special day.  Field trips provide learning experiences outside the classroom.  Guest speakers invited into the classroom help students develop an awareness of various professions and their role in the community.  Show and Tell gives each child the opportunity to be center stage and develop verbal expression. Holiday celebrations help the children develop an awareness and appreciation for their own family customs as well as the customs of different nationalities. Parent/teacher conferences provide parents with an evaluation of their child’s progress throughout the year. Individual and class pictures create memories of the happy times the children shared with their classmates.
